The playing field
The playing Field is the area within which the ball may be legally played and fielded.
2.1 The distance from base to base shall be 60 ft, the diagonal distance from 1st to 3rd or home to 2nd base is 84’ 10 1/4” (checking diagonal dimension will assist in keeping the diamond squared).
2.2 Home plate to the pitching line, the pitching distance shall be 46 ft.
2.3 Commitment Line is a line drawn 21 ft from the back of home plate and perpendicular to the 3rd base line. Safe Line is a line drawn in foul territory starting at the FRONT corner of home plate closest to 3rd base and perpendicular to the 3rd base line. It shall extend 10 ft from the 3rd base line in foul territory.
2.4 Playable Field - The umpires and team captain(s) shall determine if the field is playable. Refer to the rain-out rules if the field is not playable,
