The Game
5.1 As per Regular season schedule, the home team designated has the choice of the first or last bat in the inning.
5.1.1 As per Tournament & Playoff schedule, the home team designated has the choice of the first or last bat in the inning. If the Home team is not stated, then a coin toss shall decide.
5.2. A regulation game shall consist of seven innings: Exception: a) All games must conform to 1 1⁄2 hour timeslot designated & must not delay start of any games scheduled afterwards. No new inning can start after 1 h & 20 (80 minutes of “Actual” time) maximum in Regular season, Tournament & Playoff. b) A full seven innings need not be played if the team second at bat scores more runs in six innings or before the third out in the last of the seventh inning. c) Mercy Rules: If any team ahead by fifteen (15) runs or more after five (5) or more innings. If the home team is ahead by the above 15 runs after 4 1/2 or more innings, the home team shall be declared the winner and the game declared complete. d) Regular season game that is tied at the end of seven innings, final score will be submitted as a tie. e) Tournament and Playoff game that is tied at the end of seven innings, will be continued by playing additional inning(s) using the International Rule until one side has scored more runs than the other at the end of a complete inning or until the team second at bat has scored more runs in their half of the inning before the third out is made. f) For Regular Season, Tournament & Playoff game called by an Umpire, shall be regulation if five or more complete innings have been played or if the team second at bat has scored more runs than the other team has scored in five or more innings. An Umpire can call a game at any time because of darkness, rain, fire, panic, or other cause which puts the patrons, umpires, or players in peril. g) A regulation tie game shall be declared if the score is equal when the game is called at the end of five or more completed innings or if the team second at bat has equaled the score of the first team at bat in the incomplete inning. h) These provisions do not apply to any acts on the part of players or spectators which might call forfeiture of the game. The plate umpire may forfeit the game if any umpire (includes regular season, player designated umpires) is attacked physically by any team member or spectator. Forfeiture -A forfeited game shall be declared in favour of the team not at fault. (score will be 7- 0)
5.3 Regular season, Tournament & Playoff, If a team is unable to field enough players for any game, within 5 minutes of a scheduled start time a forfeited game shall be declared by the umpire in favour of the team not at fault. A forfeit may also be issued if a team fails to appear on the field or, being on the field, refuses to begin a game which it is scheduled or assigned at the time scheduled or within 5 minutes time for forfeitures by the organization of which the team is a member. b) If, after the game has begun, one side refuses to continue to play unless the game
has been suspended or terminated by the umpire. c) If after, the umpire has suspended play, one side fails to resume playing within two minutes after the umpire has called "play ball". d) If a team, after a warning by the umpire, employs tactics purposely designed to delay or to hasten the game. e) If, after warning by the umpire, any one of the rules of the game is willfully violated. f) If the order for the removal or ejection of a player or any person authorized to sit on the team bench is not obeyed within one minute. g) If, because of the removal or ejection of the players from the game by the umpire or for any cause, there are less than 7 players.
5.3.1 Any team forfeiting two games during the season will be placed on probation and will come under review by the Convener of the league. Disciplinary action may be taken against the offending team.
5.3.2 Any team forfeiting three games during the season will be expelled from the league. 5.4 The winner of the game shall be the team that scores the most runs.
5.4.1 The score of a called regulation game shall be the score at the end of the last complete inning unless the team second at bat (Home Team) has scored more runs than the first team at bat in the incomplete inning. In this case, the score shall be that of the incomplete inning. The winning team shall be awarded 2 points in the regular season standings. “Mercy Rules”: If any team ahead by fifteen (15) runs or more after five (5) or more innings. If the home team is ahead by the above 15 runs after 4 1/2 or more innings, the home team shall be declared the winner and the game declared complete. b. The score of a regulation tie game shall be the tie score when the game was terminated. A regulation tie, teams are awarded 1 point each in the seasonal standings. c. The score of a forfeited game shall be 7-0 in favor of the team not at fault. d. TIEBREAKER. Starting with the top of the eighth (8) innings and each half inning thereafter, the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half-inning placed on second base.
5.5 SCORING OF RUNS. One run shall be scored each time a runner legally touches first, second, third base and crosses the safety line before the third out of the inning.
5.5.1 A run shall not be scored if the last out of an inning is the result of: a) The batter-runner being forced out before legally touching first base. b) Any runner being forced out. c) The runner fails to keep contact with the base to which he is entitled until a pitch is released. d) A preceding runner being declared out.
5.6 Maximum runs allowed per Inning. a) All innings except for the last inning are restricted to 5 runs per team per inning. b) Teams are permitted unlimited scoring in the last inning.
5.7 Minimum number of players a) Each team must field no less than seven players for each game. b) Any team that fails to field seven players within 5 minutes, after the scheduled starting time forfeits that game. c) If both teams have less than seven players, both teams forfeit the game, 7-7 tie. (No rescheduling) Exception: Before the game begins, a team may offer players
to another team without penalty to either team. Neither team is obliged to agree to such an action.
5.8 Each team may field as many as ten players at one time.
5.9 Fielding Each team should field at least two women and at least two men at all times. If a team can field only one female (or male), then the team may only field nine players. The team must still include the missing player in the batting order, and every time the missing player is scheduled to bat, that missing player is automatically out.
5.10 .If a team can field no females (or males), then the team may only field eight players. The team must still include the two missing players in the batting order. Every time the missing players are scheduled to bat, those missing players are automatically out.
5.11 No fielders except the pitcher may advance inside any baseline until the batter bats the ball.
5.12 There is unlimited substitution of players during & between innings.
5.13 If an infielder deliberately mishandles a fair infield fly ball, which can be caught by and infielder with ordinary effort, when first and second or first, second and third bases are occupied, before two are out, the ball is dead, the batter is automatically out and the runners may advance at own risk.
